About the Event

Please note this course has not been designed for health/social care staff. Places are limited and free places are only being offered to families or informal carers that are non health/social care professionals. If you are (also) a health or social care professional- please speak to your employer to request Mental Capacity Act training or view our range of courses designed for professionals.

We are hosting a new free course for families and informal carers. This course will focus on mental capacity in the context of day to day activities and understanding some of the key duties as a Lasting Power of Attorney or Court Appointed Deputy. The course will be run by our trainer Piers McNeil

The course will cover:

  • The purpose of the Mental Capacity Act 2005

  • Who does the Act apply to?

  • The 5 legal principles underpinning the Act
